This section should contain your research questions (which are guiding your data analysis and results). Begin this section with demographic data, and then provide the results as they pertain directly to your research questions. See the samples provided. You are only providing hard data here, numbers %, correlations etc. not an analysis of your results. The analysis and discussion about your results will happen in the Discussion section.
Discussion:
In this section, you are essentially pulling the entire project together. You will pull together info from lit review, your theory, research questions, results and your analysis and discussion of results. Begin by addressing your topic (as you did in the literature review) but briefly. Tell your reader why this is an important topic, how does it affect, who does it affect, some stats from lit review about the impact or importance. Then present your goals for the research. What are you research questions and goals for the project. Then present an overview of your results, not detailed, but a summary. As you do this, discuss the results, interpret them. Here is a chance to explain your results with words, experiences, as opposed to just numbers/% as you did in the Results section. As you explain and describe, connect your chosen theory and tell us how it fits, what was addressed by this theory and what needs to be addressed further. How does theory apply to your results and data analysis. Lastly, list your study limitations. This means, you are addressing the flaws of your research. What could you have done better or differently. If you did a meta analysis you skip the limitations. Next, you address your recommendations for future researchers. What should other researcher look into, further assess in regards to this topic. Limitations and recommendations are usually brief. 1-2 sentences for each.
Please note:
Future Direction: tell the reader how your results inform the field. What do they contribute to the field? How should your results be applied, and what should others do when doing a similar research within this scope
FYI (a little trick): every journal article lists their limitations and future recommendations so it’s a nice way to see how it’s done
