3 pages: just use text and former knowledge, no outside sources
In a short paper, respond to these items based on the information in the text and using your own knowledge of the media:
1. Albarran invokes Sherman’s “four separate but interrelated activities” of media companies on page 4. Give examples of what these activities might be for broadcast radio, internet radio, satellite radio, broadcast television, streaming television, and cable television. You could do this in text, or in a grid, whatever works best for you. One example of each activity for each medium.
2. For each of the management functions (16-19), take a guess at what a lower-level manager, a middle manager, and an executive manager might do to accomplish that function. These can be specific examples, such as “Planning: a lower-level radio manager would work with his DJs to create the most efficient way of scheduling them.” I’m not looking for “correct” answers as much as I want to see how you think about these things, so don’t sweat the details too much on this one.
