1.  In her article, Janet Mock used encounter with her vice principal blocking and  telling her that she had to use a single stall bathroom. Although she went through the transition and identify herself as a woman she was not allowed to go in the women’s bathroom because the adults at her school didn’t accept her decision and identified her as a man. She considered the intersections of public and private experience a couple of times in the paragraph describing how people treated her. One of the statements she made was “But things began to shift after that administrator blocked me from going into the restroom with my girlfriends. I was pulled out of class my sophomore year whenever I wore a skirt, a blouse or a dress — anything that didn’t fit the school’s binary constructions. I was sent home to change a dozen times that year. I was repeatedly called out of my name and by the wrong gender pronoun by school bullies — but most often by the adults charged with creating a safe, welcoming and affirming space for students.” She also shows the larger statitics of the trans youth with giving the percentages of suicide rates amongst them and how many of the youth have hurt themselves for getting treated different for being them.
2. Mock’s narrative takes a turning point when she is moved from one school to another. Receiving a different experience at the new school that she did not get the other. We see this change by the details and descriptions she puts into her writing from both the school and the people she had encountered. She uses these experience to try construct an argument to convey how people other than herself are feeling or possibly feeling due to similar experiences.
