What is the letter about? What is its purpose?
What is the historical background of this letter? What is Paul dealing with at this time?
What themes do you observe in the letter?
What does this letter say about God the Father? Jesus, the Son? The Holy Spirit?
What stood out to you in each letter? (Include a few verses that were significant or meaningful to you and why).
What aspect of this letter can you apply to the modern day in general or your life specifically?
Identify a few specific verses in this letter that relate to “becoming the gospel.” What is the exhortation in these verses toward becoming the gospel, and what does that look like in life? Cite from Gorman’s text in this part.

Do not use vague, generic answers that could be applied to all of Paul’s letters (Ex. What is this letter about? Weak answer: Paul is talking about the gospel and explaining how he can help these churches with the struggles they are dealing with. This response is vague and does not demonstrate that you have read the letter or understood what is involved.)
Include quotations from the letter and/or Gorman in every response. Include additional personal insights and application where applicable. Show specifics from the letter. When you explain the themes, what themes do you observe, and where do you see them in the text of the letter.
The questions asking for your own opinion and application should be thorough and include a detailed explanation with your own personal insights. Use first person in questions 5 and 6.
Question 7 relates to Gorman’s text. This is a chance for you to summarize the weekly reading chapter and explain what Gorman is referring to about this particular letter as it relates to becoming the gospel.
