RESPOND TO EACH 6 DISCUSSIONS SEPERATELLY

March 30, 2022

PLEASE RESPOND TO EACH 6 DISCUSSIONS SEPERATELLY Peer Response must be substantive by bringing information to the discussion or further enhance the discussion. Each Peer Response must have a minimum of ONE reference with citations (the best is a peer-reviewed article). Word count is greater than 75 words or at least 5 sentences in length. Participation #1Legislative policy development is not a quick and easy process. There are five components that occur which are issue raising, policy design, building of public support, legislative decision-making and building of policy support, and policy implementation (Shi & Singh, 2018). These all must occur in order for the policy to be made. Once the policy is made and introduced it will go to the house of representatives, then to the appropriate subcommittee which will recommend the bill or table the bill. After that, the full house will hear the bill and make any changes, approve it and send it to the Senate. The Senate has a similar process and if they approve it, then it goes to the President for final approval.
Participation #2 The development of a legislative health care policy is an intricate process, it involves the private and public sectors, including multiple levels of government. The formation and implementation of health policy occur in a policy cycle comprising five components: (1) issue raising, (2) policy design, (3) building of public support, (4) legislative decision-making and building of policy support, and (5) policy implementation. These activities are likely to be shared in varying degrees with Congress and interest groups. Participation #3The legislative health care policy is a little bit complex. Once the bill is brought to the House of Representatives it is sent to the appropriate committee, then to a subcommittee. Once with the subcommittee they decide if it is worth being recommended or not. Once recommended the house will hear it and if approved it then goes to the Senate. Once at the Senate in again goes to a committee and subcommittee and any amendments can be added it is then voted on the Senate and goes to the president, if amendments are added it goes back to the House to be voted on again. After both sides agree and the vote is passed it goes to the President, once with the President if he signs then it is now a law if it is vetoed by the President in goes back to congress and can be overturned. After it becomes a law, it goes to the right agency for the law to come into play. Participation #4The Act is a federal law that protects patients’ health information from being unknowingly disclosed. The HIPPA Security Rules describe who is covered by the HIPPA privacy protections and what safeguards must be in place to ensure appropriate protection of protected health information(Healthit, 2022).
When people enroll in a health plan, they authorize a healthcare provider to use or share their health information to facilitate the provider’s delivery of medical services and payment of medical bills. At the same time, providers follow HIPAA rules to protect policyholders’ medical records and health information. Healthcare providers offer HIPPA Act training sessions to their employees every year to ensure every employee follows the rules. Therefore, the authorization that people give health care providers about personal information is a trust in the provider and the beginning of a good relationship with each other. Participation #5″The Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Act of 2005 (Public Law 109-41), signed into law on July 29, 2005, was enacted in response to growing concern about patient safety in the United States and the Institute of Medicine’s 1999 report, To Err is Human: Building a Safer Health System. The goal of the Act is to improve patient safety by encouraging voluntary and confidential reporting of events that adversely affect patients.” This legislation was a way to let people help improve the system. They created PSOs (Patient Safety Organization) to collect confidential information from healthcare providers. This pushes healthcare professionals to do their best and patients have the best care. Everyone needs someone to keep them accountable. This is not available to insurance companies but all privately owned practices and public regardless if they are non-profit or not. In healthcare administration this will become important because ensuring that our patients and staff are safe and receiving quality care is very important to the healthcare facility. Participation #6The Affordable Care Act is the most important health care legislation enacted in the United States since the creation of Medicare and Medicaid in 1965. The law implemented comprehensive reforms designed to improve the accessibility, affordability, and quality of health care (Obama, 2016). ACA has made significant progress toward the challenges in the healthcare system, the uninsured rate has declined by 43%, from 16.0% in 2010 to 9.1% in 2015, primarily because of the law’s reforms. As a healthcare professional the increase in access to healthcare has increased quality care and has also generally helped to have a better patient outcome.
