Research Proposal Instructions
Objective: This research paper aims to explore a specific area of interest within Kinesiology and/or Exercise Science through a detailed literature review and the formulation of a hypothesis for further investigation.
1. Topic Selection and Approval:
Choose a topic relevant to Kinesiology and/or Exercise Science.
Ensure the topic is broad enough to find 12 to 20 peer-reviewed, published research articles, yet focused enough for a thorough analysis.
2. Literature Review:
Conduct a comprehensive review of the selected topic using 12 to 20 peer-reviewed, published research articles.

to help you organize your research.
The literature review section should be concise, not exceeding 3 pages.
Synthesize the literature to form a coherent narrative. Avoid discussing each article in isolated paragraphs.
Focus on key findings and how they relate to your proposed research area.
No direct quotes are allowed. Paraphrase and cite appropriately.
3. Hypothesis Development:
Based on your literature review, formulate a clear and testable hypothesis.
The hypothesis should logically follow and build upon the findings of the reviewed literature.
4. Paper Structure:
Title Page: Follow APA format.
Abstract: Summarize the key points of your paper including the topic, methodology, and proposed hypothesis.
Introduction: Introduce your topic, present the background, and state the research question and hypothesis.
Methods: Describe the proposed methods for testing your hypothesis, including participants, materials, instruments/measures, procedure, and data collection techniques.
Statistical Analysis: Explain the statistical methods you will use to analyze the data.
Measurement and Evaluation: Emphasize on the measurement and evaluation strategies specific to Kinesiology.
Reference List: Include all cited sources following APA format.
5. Formatting and Style:
Use Times New Roman, size 12 font. The paper should be double spaced.
Follow APA format for in-text and parenthetical citations, reference list, and heading levels.
Manuscript length: up to 10 pages (excluding title page and reference list).
6. Peer Review:
Participate in peer feedback sessions.
Provide constructive feedback on your peers’ assignments and incorporate feedback received into your final submission.
7. Submission Guidelines:
Ensure every reference is cited within the manuscript.
