Research paper instructions
Topic is CJ Reform and Probation/Parole.
Select ONE academic journal or Professional Association article to write your paper. Include a link to your article in the Resource page of your document.
Resource article must be a minimum of 3000 words but there is no max limit.
Use the instructions below to write a research paper from that article.

Reference the How To videos in Module 1 for instructions and explanations.
Section 1
Include and/or address the following:
-Author and title of article,
-The name of the Journal you found it in
-Is the article a study, position paper, new information, or persuasion paper?
-Summarize the paper.
-How does the article end, what were the findings?
Section 2
Identify 3 things you learned or discovered from reading the article and how each benefit you in your career. Be thorough, I am looking for content, not simple answers. Base your answers on information from the article. Simply saying “ I learned ——–” is not enough. You ARE NOT allowed to make summary statements here. You must talk about each thing learned and it’s benefits separately.
Section 3
Develop 3 questions you would ask the author about the article if he or she were here in class and explain why you asked that question. In other words, explain why you asked that particular question. Your questions must be about the content of the article, not the authors feelings, thoughts, perspectives, or opinions. Again, summary statements are not allowed here.
Section 4
Explain 2 ways you might expand upon or advance this research. How would you “take it to the next level” or build upon this work?
Section 5
Connect the information in this article back to class in 5 ways. Describe how what you read about is connected to what you are learning this semester.
Mechanics
Paper should be 3 or more full pages long. It can be longer if you need, never shorter.
Times New Roman 12 pt font, double spaced, 1 inch margins.
Include a title and reference page.
