Requirements:
5-8 pages in length
MLA format
It should be about a debatable topic
It should not be about the legalization of marijuana or abortion.
There should be a minimum of 5 sources. Three should be from your databases, and two can be from anywhere else reliable.
* For the sources I unfortunately haven’t find any sources yet. So for the three sources from database, please find them through the Gale Health and Wellness, or Gale Onefile Health and Medicine. The other two you can find any reliable sources!
As far as the essay, there should be:
1) An introduction
2) An identifiable thesis
3) The stated reasons (topic sentences) are clear in each body paragraph.
4) Each reason as an implied or explained warrant as well as backing.
5) A rebuttal (counterargument paragraph) that clearly states the opposing viewpoint, then refutes it.
6) A well-developed conclusion that doesn’t end abruptly
7) A Works Cited page in MLA format with your five sources.
8) Revision/Editing evidence
Criteria:
The introduction is well- developed and provides background and context for the thesis.
The Thesis statement is clear, provides reasons, and firmly states the author’s stance
The Stated Reasons are Clearly Defined in Each Body Paragraph
Each Reason Paragraph provides Warrants and Backing
The Rebuttal clearly states the opposing viewpoint and provides sources to support it
The Conclusion is Well-Developed and Does Not End Abruptly
MLA Format In-text citations are correct, heading is correct, page numbers are correct.
Title is correct, each citation is correct, all of the in-text citations appear on the Works Cited page.
