Reflection on Narrative-Report
Studies have shown the efficacy of reflection as a crucial element in the learning process. I would like YOU to reflect on what you have just accomplished in your first major paper. I suggest you do this as soon as possible, while it is still fresh in your memory, but you will submit it online AND hand in a hard copy by class time.
You will not need to peer edit this one, but I do expect you to polish it before you submit it, as I will be using the same grading rubric as I use for your “formal” papers. However, as this is less of a brain-drainer, I will award you with only 1/2 the credit of the actual Narrative-Report (i.e., only 50 points).
This is an essay / paper, not a questionnaire / survey. Give me developed paragraphs with very specific examples and details to support your response. Print out a hard copy, too, please.
In 300-500 words, discuss the writing process you used to complete the Narrative -Report.
Describe the following:
• The method you used to choose and develop your topic
• The steps you went through in the early writing stages of drafting
• How you did the research
• What snags, dead ends, and other unsuccessful moves you made
• The specific ways in which your essay changed through drafts
o Content changes
o Structural changes
• Your use of feedback
o Most useful pieces of feedback you received
o How you implemented the feedback
• What you will “carry with you” to your next writing task
