As you read the paper there may have
been one aspect of the report that sparked an interest in you. Identify a
vulnerable teen sub-group that is at risk, so perhaps teens who are pregnant,
or homeless, in foster care, or have addiction issues, etc.
(Please check in with me.
In this way we can be sure it is a topic that has research available from
reliable sources. And I want to be sure that your focus is not so broad you end
up writing a book or so narrow you cannot find material)
You will address the following
concerns in a minimum 4-page paper (MLA format). Each question should be a
paragraph response.
What is the topic group you have
selected?
Why is this group significant?
What data or statistics have you found
in your research to support the relevance of this topic? Cite sources.
How does this topic relate to the
report and a teen’s mental health?
Identify three possible solutions or
things that can help the teen in the situation that you found in your research.
Again, cite sources.
Are these solutions possible? Yes or
no -explain.
What have you learned from doing this
research?
AND REMEMBER, YOU MUST CITE YOUR
SOURCES at the end of the paper!!! You must have at least two psychology
journals/ academic publications and one article related to your topic from
psychology magazines or psychologists who have published in a reputable national
publication. You may also use a government website for data and statistics as
well as a specific group who assists that topic area (like the Trevor Project).
