This assignment has to be in MLA format. You need to write a cover letter, and re-write at least more than 65% of Short Essay 3 and Short Essay 4. I have attached Annotated pdf of Short Essay 3 and 4 I have already written, and I have also attached annotated PDF of Portfolio 1 with Professor’s feedback. I want you to write the cover letter, and re-write both the essays using Professor’s feedback. I have also attached PDF’s with the Instructions. If you have any questions then Text me ASAP. Cover Letter
Revision of BOTH Short Essay 3 and 4. This essay should be 3-4 pages, 12pt font double spaced. You should heavily consider the feedback you’ve received from me and from your peers. The essay should demonstrate significant revision.
Annotations from the professor:
Short Essay 3:
1. What kind of history does the tea party create? we need some kind of analysis that answers this question. would they frame american history in a way that emphasizes the importance of individual freedoms above centralized goverment?
2. We need this paper to be focused just on one discourse community. so for revision, rewrite the second half of this paper so that it stays focused just on the tea party.
Short Essay 4:
1. Is this historically accurate? you might want to do a bit more general reading about blue lives matter. this really doesn’t emerge historically until after black lives matter, which is a very recent (last ten years) discourse group.
2. Good. can you tell us more about this linguistic strategy?
3. Again, you might want to do some general reading about blue lives matter. are you saying that the kind of pro-police sentiment crops up right after stonewall riots? If so, you’ll need to distinguish that. blue lives matter is a distinctly post 2010 movement.
Portfolio 1:
1. This is good revision, but we’d like to see a slightly more in depth analysis of how these discourses are constitutive of belief. this means analyzing how not only did these discourse spread a specific idea, but how these discourses broadened you into an entirely different world. this is what it means that discourse is constitutive of belief, not just expressive.
2. I’m glad that you’ve been able to develop some of your stylistic writing skills, but in this cover letter i’d also like to hear about how your critical thinking skills have developed. how has our investigation of discourse helped you revise your essay? how has this conversation changed your definition of writing?
