For this journal you must reflect back on your development between ages 12-18 (if you are younger than 18 that is ok!), consider how your experiences were similar to or different from what the text describes. First paragraph: provide a bio of yourself during your adolescence. What school did you go to, did you have a job, where? Who was in your family? How did you spend your time? Then analyze yourself according to what the book says about adolescence. Use these three headings; biosocial, cognitive and psychosocial. Each heading should be one page in length, pulling from chapters 13, 14 and 15. Type a concluding paragraph that summarizes your learning. Were your experiences similar to or different from what’s described in the text.
this is the first part of it that i already came up with so maybe you can make it sound better and flow together.
At 12 and 13 (7th and 8th grade), I was still living in Texas and attending Jr. High School. At the end of my 8th grade year my dad went to prison, my mom lost our house, and we ended up selling everything we had to move to California to be with my grandmother. At 14, I ended up having to repeat the 8th grade because of not completing the end of the year test required in the. I started going to mark twain on the west side and didn’t like it, so I went to stay with a family friend who needed a live in babysitter, so I finished my 8th grade year at la loma middle school while taking care of 4 kids after school. This was the start to my only job through high school up until i was like 19 years old. Once I got to high school I moved schools a lot because of fighting, not wanting to listen, and ditching. 9th grade I went to Johansen and Modesto high school. 10th grade I was at Beyer and Downey. After I got kicked out of those 4 schools my only option was Pace or Elliott so I finished my 11th and 12th grade year at Elliott up until my mom got sick and I dropped out to take care of her. Ages 15 through 18 years old, I was a wild child, Since I could go out a lot because I was always watching my nieces and nephews. I would invite all my friends over, and we would party in the garage so I could go back and forth between them and the kids. Now that i look back that was so irresponsible of me and i would never allow that to happen around my kids today.
