Project Management Institute Standards:
The Project Management Institute (PMI) developed standards and best practices in the field of project management. These standards and practices are used throughout the project life cycle. As a project manager, it is your responsibility to adapt these standards and best practices to effectively manage your individual projects.
A project scope plan is a collection of processes, tools, and techniques required to successfully complete a project.
Preparation:
First, select a project either from the Project – Case Study Scenarios document, attached below, or choose one of your own.
You will use the Project Management Plan Template (attached below) to develop a scope management plan for the project you are working on in this course. The Project Management Plan Template was created to assist you in completing a project plan for this course. There are comments and guidance throughout the template to guide you through the project plan creation process. You are encouraged to add additional assumptions to each section of the plan to support your selected project’s objectives.
As you prepare to complete this assessment, you may want to think about other related issues to deepen your understanding or broaden your viewpoint. You are encouraged to consider the questions below and discuss them with a fellow learner, a work associate, an interested friend, or a member of your professional community. Note that these questions are for your own development and exploration and do not need to be completed or submitted as part of your assessment.
What is the detailed description of the scope?
What high-level deliverables are required?
What is the high-level budget?
What is the high-level schedule?
What are the objectives and goals of the project?
The following resources are required to complete the assessment.
Instructions:
Use the Project Management Plan Template to complete your project scope plan for the scenario you selected(please use scenario 2). Please complete the Project Scope Management Plan sections only. Complete the following:
Describe project background, benefits, and business objectives.
Define project scope in a clear and concise manner.
Estimate project milestones and deliverable dates.
Include assumptions. If the case study scenario does not provide the information needed, make an assumption and proceed. Ensure all assumptions are documented in your project scope.

Your assessment should meet the following requirements:
Written communication: Ensure written communication is free of errors that detract from the overall message. Complete assessments in a detailed, comprehensive, and error-free manner.
Number of resources: There is no minimum number of resources.
Length: Complete only the Project Scope Management Plan section of the Project Management Plan Template.
Font and font size: Times New Roman, 12 point.
