Presentation Assignment
For this assignment you will choose a topic/issue in child development to explore in depth. The list below is separated into developmental stages and includes research questions that apply to each stage of development. You will choose a topic, and then research articles on the topic.
Possible Topics to Research (other topics may be chosen, but will need to be approved by the instructor):

How does family structure affect children in middle childhood?

How might schools prevent drug abuse?
What factors lead to eating disorders?

LAVC Library Research Toolkit (LRT)
Made up of seven individual modules, the LRT is designed to introduce you to the research and writing process. Each module includes readings, videos, activities, and a quiz to assess your understanding of the material. Your instructor may have assigned a single module or the entire Toolkit. You must earn a 75% or higher on the quiz at the end of the module to earn your proof of completion.

Research your topic, and pick one study that you find really interesting.
Summarize your article [1 paragraph for each section of article (5 paragraphs total).
Include identifying information about the article (title, authors, journal, and publication date).
Type out your summary, and submit it on canvas.
