2) The heart of your literature review — This information will comprise the bulk of your poster. Since this is meant to be, in general, a visual aid for your presentation, this content can take various forms. The poster should tell a cohesive story about your topic at an appropriate level (your audience is your Bio classmates).
3) At least two Figures, Tables, Images, etc of some type, or two distinct panels of a more complex figure, with approval based on the resources provided on the end of the paper– At least one should be an original figure that you created. These can be diagrams, graphs, pictures, tables etc. anything that helps you support and clarify the material that you are presenting in your review. You may include figures, etc that were not part of your written review; content for a poster may be different than what you chose to present in your written review. You should compose an original figure caption for each figure that also includes the citation.
4) Directions for future research, connections among research findings, contextualization or application of topic, any remaining questions, etc.
5) A set of “essential” references (your whole list is not necessary, but include figure references and primary informational ones)
Make sure the poster components answers all of these:

Does it tell a cohesive story? Do all the figures relate to the specific topic & contribute to telling the “story”?
Do you synthesize information? Do you talk about how the figures relate to each other and to the overall topic? Is the take home message clear?
Do you include references? You don’t need to list all your references, just the top 3-4 main references you used.
Did you include original figure captions for the figures that also include citations?
Are the figures large and clear enough that they will be visible to someone standing 2 feet away?
Do you have enough text that someone can get the gist without you there, but not too much that they would need more than a few minutes to read through it? Is it formatted in a way that is readable (eg. bullet points or short paragraphs)?
Is this written at an appropriate level for the target audience? Is it explained well enough that a Bio classmate outside of the specific field understand it (eg. could an MCON major understand a poster about a molecular topic)?
Does your title accurately reflect the focus of your poster?
