Please respond to (1. Lyndsay, 2. Sofia, 3. Danice, 4. Alondra) with at least one paragraph each and include in-text citation and reference if needed. I have included the discussion post question to for your reference as to what was discussed.

question 500: After your graduation, you will be in an academic or clinical field. Depending on your field choice, discuss one nursing theory and identify the effect th at the implications of this theory could have on nursing administration, management, or education.

1. Lyndsay: “After graduation, I plan to be in the clinical field for another 10 years more or less then enter the academic field. One nursing theory that has a significant impact is the “Theory of Human Caring” by Jean Watson. Watson’s theory emphasizes the importance of the nurse-patient relationship, holistic care, and the integration of mind, body, and spirit in the healing process.

Nursing Administration:

Watson’s 10 Carative Processes talk about “being authentically present, developing trusting-caring relationships, and creatively problem-solving (McEwen, 2017, p. 184). These qualities are important to be a good administrator. An administrator is of great value to staff when they feel supported.

Management:

Like administration, management is helpful when they support their staff. Using Watson’s 10 Carative Processes, management can focus on “being sensitive to self and others by cultivating own spiritual practices; beyond ego-self to transpersonal presence” (McEwen, 2017, p. 184). This practice allows staff to be able to discuss matters of importance with management and feel comfortable enough to be open and communicate their needs effectively.

Education:

“Engaging in transpersonal teaching and learning within context of caring relationship; staying within other’s frame of reference-shirt toward coaching model for expanded health/wellness” (McEwen, 2017, p. 184). This type of teaching produces competent nurses. Nurse educators can teach communication skills which enhances the nurse-patient relationship.

Health.”

2. Sofia: “Nightingale’s concept, also known as the Environmental Theory, emphasizes the role of the environment in health promotion and disease prevention. When used in clinical settings, Nightingale’s model focuses on providing a therapeutic atmosphere that promotes patient healing and well-being. Transitioning into being a nurse practitioner, I think this theory amplifies the importance of a nurse’s input in patient wellness, “Nightingale believed that nurses must make accurate observations of their patients and report the state of the patient to the physician in an orderly manner. She explained that nurses should think critically about the care of the patient and do what was appropriate and necessary to assist the patient to heal.” (McEwen and Wills, 2021, p. 138). After graduation, we are now diagnosing and treating these patients, and this theory is best applied in this transition.

This model includes maintaining cleanliness, enough ventilation, appropriate lighting, and a pleasant atmosphere. In nursing administration, the implications of this theory might lead to the development of policies and practices that prioritize environmental elements in patient care. Nurse management can help leaders create work settings that benefit patients and staff, highlighting the necessity of maintaining a safe and supportive physical environment. Nightingale’s model can affect nursing school curricula by underscoring the importance of environmental elements in patient outcomes and teaching students how to analyze and manage their surroundings to promote health and healing. Overall, Nightingale’s paradigm has significant implications for nursing administration, management, and education, emphasizing the critical importance of the environment in providing the best patient care.

Question 510: Nurse-managed health centers and clinics are providing care at more convenient locations. Please explain the need for this change, benefits, and possible solutions to any obstacles.

3. Danice: “I believe that it is important to have more health centers, and clinics. Formally defined, a center of excellence is a program within a healthcare institution which is assembled to supply an exceptionally high concentration of expertise and related resources centered on a particular area of medicine, delivering associated care in a comprehensive, interdisciplinary fashion to afford the best patient outcomes possible. ( Elrod, J.K& Fortenberry, J.L, 2017 para. 9) This is beneficial for patients, in order to improve individual healthcare and health promotion. This is an important change, so that individuals are provided with resources that they need. There are more benefits that are provided when there are more health centers. For example, it improves access to all individuals, and reduce in health issues. Obstacles may be inadequate funding. Funding is usually the issue in most costly programs, a solution can be collaborating with communities by advocating for funding and support.

4. Alondra: “To improve access to healthcare services, nurse-managed health centers and clinics are moving to more convenient places. The intention behind this shift is to provide preventive health measures, lower obstacles to care, and reach disadvantaged groups. A more patient-centered approach is promoted when these facilities are located in places that are convenient for the public, like community centers or schools. This change has the advantage of better patient involvement, prompt intervention, and the ability to treat health problems before they worsen. A more comprehensive and community-focused healthcare paradigm is promoted by nurse-managed centers, which depart from typical healthcare settings. However, obstacles may arise, such as regulatory challenges, funding constraints, and community resistance. To overcome these hurdles, collaborative efforts among healthcare providers, policymakers, and community leaders are crucial. Advocacy for supportive policies, securing diverse funding sources, and community education initiatives can help address these challenges and ensure the success of nurse-managed health centers in convenient locations.
