Part V
A. Create a Power Point presentation (with 2 slides) of Disney animated film characters showing gender stereotypes. One character should be female & one male. Discuss the gender stereotypes of each character. What behaviours, expectations, etc. Each discussion should be a minimum of 70 words. Only send the 2 slides as the attachment. The two discussions should be with the assignment. I would suggest researching gender stereotypes for this, so you can elaborate with details. To receive credit, be sure to label each discussion with 1, 2, 3.
Format the two discussions as follows:
1. Name of Disney character?
2. Name of Disney movie?
3. what are the gender stereotypes perpetuated by the character? (Min 70 words for #3)
B. Send the 2 slide images only as an attachment. These two discussions go with the rest of the assignment.
.
PART VI: FINAL ANALYSIS DISCUSSION:
Write a well-thought out analysis, using your own words, on why Disney has remained an icon of popular culture, generation after generation. Research this topic, and use correctly formatted in-paper citations from the textbook reading to support your ideas and conclusions. Use a min. of three intext citations – two of these must be from article #45, one can be your own source. Length of your analysis should be at least 170 words. Place your Disney analysis discussion with the entire assignment. Be sure to include your word count at the end of the discussion.
Submit only the 2 images as a Power Point attachment.
You can use the following quotation to help write the analysis discussion, if you find it helpful.
“Since the 1930s the Walt Disney Company has produced characters, images, and stories which have captivated audiences around the world. How can we understand the appeal of Disney products? What is it about the Disney phenomenon that attracts so many children as well as adults?” (Wasko, 2005, p.31)
Be sure to also include all of your sources at the end in a works cited to include book/article
Remember to follow the announcement for submitting this — only the two slides with images (no text) — should be attached.
Thanks!
