pediatric nursing (reflection – on- action).

You can reflect on the provision of nursing care to a sick
child/child. There are two approaches to this assignment.

You can focus on a sick child and share your experience relating
to the themes or reflect on various thematic experiences with sick children.
Reflection on Ethico –legal dilemmas relating to the themes chosen can also be
included.

The clinical experience that you are to reflect on are from the
following themes: You are required to choose only two (2) themes
below:
1. The role of play
and major functions/ roles of the child health nurse in caring for a
hospitalized child.
2. The needs of
children of different ages and ways of meeting these needs.
3. Normal growth and
development of children of different ages.
4. Measures to
prevent common childhood diseases including immunization and provide safe and
competent nursing care.

You need to identify your
personal and professional parameters for the way you coped with the experience
that evolved from the clinical experience. Explore your personal thoughts, feelings, and emotions,
focusing on positive and negative aspects of the experience.

You
need to evaluate the achievement of the objectives and critically analyze and
reflect on the experiences of your practice based on current literature.
·
Each
theme should have (>2) literature/research articles that provide the
strongest evidence for your topic. Your articles must be ≤ 7 years old.
·
Use
Gibbs reflective cycle (6 stages) to guide you in this assignment. You are
required to use the six (6) stages in each theme. (See attached – pdf file)
