This week’s discussion board post will continue using AI to help you summarize and analyze a topic of your choice that is based on concepts found in one of the chapters. The goal of this discussion board is to see if the AI connects an initial question with an article you give it. That is, when you initially ask the AI to analyze or summarize a topic, does the AI provide you the same type of analysis or summary when you give it an article? Further, you will want to continue to provide prompts so that you get a much more detailed analysis, i.e. we are looking to test how well the AI creates a robust analysis.
PROCEDURE
Select a topic from one of the chapters that are covered this week (6, 12, 13). After choosing what topic or concept you want to discuss, do four things:
Find an article related to that topic. You may use one listed in the current weekly module or find your own.
First ask the AI a question related to the article/concept you have chosen.
Next, ask the AI to analyze the article for you while also connecting it back to what it previously gave to you.
Provide commentary or a critique of that output given to you. When writing your post keep a few questions in mind:
Did AI sufficiently address the initial and follow up questions?
Did AI connect the initial question and follow up questions?
Did AI find the article contradictory to the initial question, i.e. did the article you provide not have the concept found in it or did AI not recognize the concept?
Did AI leave any pertinent information out, which would cement the analysis?
Have your original post finished and posted by Thursday. This allows you and your classmates time to respond to each others’ posts.
Grading
Your posts will be graded based on these criteria:
Your original post needs to be by Thursday – 11 points
Format your post based on the example below. A topic and article need to be presented first (example below) – 20 points (ten points each)
Questions, responses and follow ups should have a header and follow the article – 30 points
Your commentary/critique of the AI’s response – 39 points
