INSTRUCTIONS FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT TWO:
At any time in your career, have you observed a situation that went against the organization’s policies, creating a toxic environment? In the introduction (opening paragraph), students will give a brief background of a possible workplace without giving the actual name, which will set the stage of the paper. In addition, students will then explain some issues they have witnessed in an organization that could be toxic.
In the second paragraph, research narcissistic behaviours and toxic cultures in an organization. Explain why these issues are either beneficial or detrimental to the people and the organization. All paragraphs must have at least 5 to 6 academic sentences with two or more current scholarly sources (past 5 to 7 years) per topic to synthesize and validate your claims. Students need at least 2 scholarly sources for narcissistic behaviours and at least 2 scholarly sources for toxic cultures.
After the introduction section, explain how you would survive in a toxic organizational environment in which the following issues are present within the organization. More specifically, how would you survive with each of the four factors (#s 2 to 5) encountered:
Introduction
Major communication problems and lack of collaboration/teambuilding
Inconsistency of individuals not following policies
Narcissistic and toxic leaders
The use of Power: is it used to INFLUENCE or CONTROL others?
Conclusion
Students will then complete a conclusion based on why they would stay or leave the specific organization used in this assignment. The conclusion paragraphs require at least 5 to 6 academic sentences and 2 or more current scholarly sources per topic/issue to synthesize and validate the content.
You will find the assignment template uploaded in the Canvas assignment area. A minimum of six FULL pages of content and a minimum of 12 current scholarly sources (past seven years). All paragraphs need at least 5 to 6 academic level sentences with 2 or more current scholarly resources per topic/issue to synthesize and validate the content. All papers are to be submitted by the due date; there are no exceptions so please work ahead and do not wait until the weekend prior to the due date to start your assignment. Please communicate with your individual faculty member for exact due dates and expectations. No books can be used, only current scholarly journals (past 5 to 7 years) that are labelled academic, peer-reviewed, or refereed journals. All references must align with in-text citations and be complete with all information (i.e., authors, date, title, source) to include the DOI or the URL. The exact URL/DOI must be included to retrieve the actual source. By not including the direct URL/DOI, the source will not count towards total sources used. This will help faculty retrieve the source to determine if the source meets the requirements of the submission.
