PLEASE CREATE VOICE NOTES SCRIPT AS WELL SO I CAN NARRATE IT!!
In an effort to engage with a required course reading from the second half of the course in greater depth, you will develop an effective and engaging book talk presentation to share with your classmates. The ultimate goal of this presentation is to encourage cross-cultural awareness through peer-to-peer discussion.
This assignment will evaluate the following course learning outcomes:
CLO3 Recognize themes, characteristics, and conventions that are common to Children’s literature.
CLO4 Analyze selected children’s texts and literary genres in relation to audience and purpose.
CLO6 Compare differing definitions of “childhood” shaped by the cultural, historical, and social contexts in which individual works of Children’s literature are written and published.
CLO7 Develop cross-cultural awareness through the study of global Children’s literature.
Choose ONE of the protagonists listed below and prepare an audio-visual book talk presentation to share with your classmates. Your goal is to present a careful character analysis of your chosen protagonist written in your own words.

You should also offer some original critical commentary as part of your presentation, with a focus on how the story you’ve chosen reflects its culture or country of origin: consider why you liked or disliked the book; what you learned from the book; whether you’d recommend the book to others; and/or offer an review of the book’s merits (for example, its writing style, theme, or illustrations).
Be creative: this assignment can take the form of a slide presentationOpens in a new tab, videoOpens in a new tab, infographicOpens in a new tab, or any other shareable presentation tool. (The Presentation Tools section of this page includes suggestions that will help you to prepare this assignment.)
After submitting your presentation to the assignment folder, you must post it on the eConestoga discussion board (where you can easily upload your presentation materials).
You will be placed into small groups to facilitate this type of sharing. Along with your presentation itself, you must include one discussion question for your peers related to your chosen book.
You are then expected to view the presentations posted by the other students in your discussion group and respond to the discussion questions they pose by starting a thread on the discussion board for this purpose.
There are lots of free audio-video creation tools online (some of which are available through the college). Popular examples include:
