1. Chapter 1 discusses social work’s person-in-environment framework and recognizes the complexity of human beings while taking a multidimensional approach to understanding human behavior. Uri Bronfenbrenner’s ecological perspective identifies 5 interdependent systems that influence a person’s life. Using yourself as an example, explain the 5 systems and provide 1 example for each system and how that system influences your life.
2. Chapter 2 explores 8 theoretical perspectives that help to explain human behavior. Pick one of the theories that you relate to the most and describe the highlights of the theory. how the theory you picked has influenced your thinking. Then, explain your own theory of human behavior.
3. Chapter 4 explores the psychological person and several theories of cognition and emotion. Pick one of the theories of cognition or emotion you relate to the most. Explain the theory and then apply the theory to your own life.
4. Reviewing Chapter 5, use either Fowler’s stages of faith development or Wilbur’s integral theory of consciousness to explain what your own spiritual timeline would look like. Identify the significant points or transitions you consider critical to your own spiritual development.
