Pick one an art movement (from the list or a more specific one you want to research) and to identify the particular “style” of a certain era. This will require a bit of research to determine what the overarching stylistic and formal properties are of the art period are.
Then identify a few works or artists are working with different content but who still fall within the same conceptual or intellectual goals of the movement; and analyze how your chosen artists or artworks fare within the stylistic framework of said movement.
For example: Impressionist paint windows, people, landscapes, flowers, homes, etc. These are all different kinds of subjects (ie. content) we see in the work, but how they are approaching these objects or subjects is what connects them to the Impressionist movement. Broadly, Impressionist painters were interested in visually depicting how light feels to look at, how it reflects and moves; and not necessarily were trying to paint as accurately or realistically as Renaissance era still lifes.
