We have a philosophy meme account and would like to offer a book that explains about 30 memes for a non-academic target audience. We provide the memes and per meme about 2-4 pages should be written explaining the meme content (who and what is shown) and why the meme is funny / controversial or of cultural value. So, short essays are to be written, very much like themselves written in an aphoristic/entertaining style. The target audience is people who have studied philosophy a bit, but would like to understand more and therefore look at memes on the internet. The whole thing should keep a non-stressful writing style. Each meme / chapter should be easily understandable and if possible humorously edited. The idea of the meme should also be mirrored in terms of format in what is written, i.e. it should be understood as an easily digestible “content snack”. Citations are not mandatory but appropriate where necessary (e.g. referring to secondary literature). You are welcome to refer to current research and living academic philosophers. Therefore, each meme / chapter should offer an outlook at the end, in case the reader wants to delve further into this topic. Reasoned recommendations on which book to read first by a philosopher would also be desirable. E.g. in the case of a “Nietzsche meme”: Read Merry Science first because it predominantly sets the stage for the other works. Or the Genealogy of Morals, depending on what the meme shows. In the case of Kant or Hegel, due to the language barrier, refer first to secondary literature for an introduction. It should not be forgotten that the book is aimed at interested laymen who are looking for an entertaining introduction to philosophy. The project has no time limit, so the sooner it can be realized, the better. We are looking forward to the cooperation. We are studied philosophers ourselves, but unfortunately got stuck in marketing and are looking for someone to write due to time constraints. Further commissioned work is of course possible if the book is a success! In principle, we are also open to co-authorships or other distribution opportunities.
