Pedagogy III- Final Exam – Essay Question Prompts
This final exam should be typed on a Word Doc. Using 12 pt. size, Times New Roman font, and 1-inch margins. You will be responding to three essay prompts total, one that I have chosen and two that you choose. Please make sure you write your responses in essay format (meaning using paragraphs and not just one long body of text). Remember that proper APA citations are encouraged and rewarded.
Respond to the Mandatory Prompt and then CHOOSE 2 additional essay prompts to respond to. You will be responding to three essay prompts total on one document. Make sure to label them.
Mandatory Prompt-Approx. 1000 words: Reflecting on all of the readings from the entire semester, please select THREE articles (all that pertain to a similar topic) that most clearly influenced the teacher you want to become. Make sure to select direct quotes from the articles to add support to your response.
Choose 2 of the following- Approx. 500 words each:
Choice 1: Imagine that it is 2 years from now and you have been hired for your first position. Explain how you create units of instruction that empower students, and perhaps even your fellow colleagues, to identify and dismantle unjust systems within society.
Choice 2: Explain HOW successful and professional teachers use curriculum to inspire their students by creating lessons that teach deep concepts and improve communities.
Choice 3: Imagine that it is 2 years from now and you have been hired for your first position and your colleague was not prepared to go into the classroom in the manner that you were. They are having trouble understanding how to teach engaging lessons using the TEKS, are teaching a large number of students learning English, and they do not know how to differentiate for a student who is partially deaf. You are assigned to mentor this first-year teacher. What are the things they must know in order to be successful?
