DW is a 52-year-old male who manages a local gardening store.  His appointment today at your dental office is for an initial dental visit.  During the patient interview, DW informs you that he made this appointment at is wife’s insistence because his wife wants to know if there is anything that can be done about his bad breath.  DW informs you that he uses mouth rinse to control the bad breath but it doesn’t help.
Patient Health History:
Vital Signs at initial visit: blood pressure 164/100 mm Hg;  pulse 74 beats;   respiration 20.
Current medications:   Amoxicillin prescribed by his physician for an ear infection.
During the interview, DW tells you that he had high blood pressure once and that he did take a prescribed medication a few years ago for that condition but stopped taking it because he feels fine.

8.  Explain your rationale in 50-100 words for the treatment option you chose for the patient in question #6.  (8 pts)
9.  If you were treating this patient in clinic during spring quarter, what additional procedures would you include in your treatment plan?  (4 pts)
