Part 1:
1. You will write a two (2) page essay reflecting on the ways in which COVID-19 affected your personal mental health. For example, you may reflect on changes in your stress level, social interactions, and academic motivation.
2. At the end of your essay, include a separate paragraph titled Conclusion. In the conclusion, imagine that you are a counselor or other mental health professional and come up with at least two (2) ideas or initiatives that will help other people who are struggling with the mental health effects of COVID-19.
3. Your essay should be written in APA format. Make sure that you include a title page, double-space the paper, use one (1) inch margins, and use a twelve (12) point font. Also include an APA style citation for the information used in your bar chart.
4. Review your essay for spelling and grammatical errors before submitting it.
5. Do NOT copy and paste (plagiarize) in this essay. Use your own words. If you want to quote a small portion of text, you may do so, but you must include both in-text citations and a references page.
Part 2:
1. Choose three (3) countries to research, preferably countries from different continents. You will research the COVID-19 death rate for each of the three (3) countries. I would use something like “deaths per 100,000”, “deaths per 1 million”, or a percentage of people who died.
2. Using Microsoft Word, create a bar chart displaying the data you collected. Be sure that your statistics are expressed as percentages or as a death rate per X number of people. You cannot use raw numbers to compare death rates among countries with different populations.
3. Be sure to give your chart a title. You must also label each axis.

For your chart I would like you to use the COVID death rates, I would use deaths per 100,000 or deaths per million, or a percentage. Here is a great website with the Deaths Per 100,000 to use in your chart.

How to Create a Bar Chart:
You must have Microsoft Word installed on your computer.
Create a New document, then click on “Insert” (3rd tab from the left)
Click on “Chart”. This will give you several options. Click on “Bar” and use the first chart sample on the left.
Enter the data you collected into the spreadsheet. You will need to rename the categories and series that appear by default.
Name your bar chart at the top.
You can also use Excel or Google Sheets to create your bar chart.
