Part 1:  Designing a year-long curriculum learning experience is a best practice

June 26, 2024

Part 1:
Designing a year-long curriculum learning experience is a best practice to outline the year and have a plan for units of instruction that will take longer or that you anticipate will need more support. Planning early offers the best chance that your scope and sequence will be realized, and allows you to consider and include materials and resources that will support learners and make the learning space engaging.
As a co-design group, you will make a copy of the Year-Long Curriculum Learning Scope and Sequence TemplateLinks to an external site., and complete the template in its entirety. Note that this is for a full 36-week school year. You and your co-design partners will decide on a subject, divide the subject into units of planned instruction, and indicate individual lessons under each unit. Feel free to use the IRIS module example as well as the “real world” example as references to help you complete the year-long plan.
