Symptoms: Both genders may experience symptoms such as fatigue, mood changes, and reduced libido due to hormonal fluctuations.
Differences: Timing: Female menopause is typically marked by a more abrupt cessation of menstruation, usually occurring around the age of 50, whereas male menopause involves a gradual decline in testosterone levels starting around the age of 40. Reproductive Changes: Female menopause results in the cessation of menstruation and the end of reproductive capacity, while male menopause does not involve a complete cessation of fertility, although sperm production may decline.
Symptoms: While some symptoms overlap, such as fatigue and mood changes, there are differences in symptom presentation. For example, hot flashes and vaginal dryness are specific to female menopause, while erectile dysfunction and muscle loss may be more common in male menopause.
