July 9, 2024

Overview
The purpose of Milestone One of the final project is to practice assessing the issues and trends that influence a corporation’s business management and leadership strategies. In particular, you will identify and assess geopolitical, historical, economic, cultural, or technological issues and themes that affect decision making related to triple-bottom-line management and leadership. This assessment supports being able to differentiate business and societal trends between bottom-line management and triple-bottom-line management of publicly traded corporations.
Note: You will receive feedback from your instructor on the milestone assignment. In this milestone, you will make any corrections you identified throughout your research or from your instructor’s feedback and then merge this milestone with the other milestones to create the final project. The final project will be in full APA format. Ensure you cite and reference any sources used in proper APA format.
Prompt
First, research to uncover information about the instructor-approved bottom-line corporation you selected in Module One, specifically its history and position. The company’s position could be of a leader in the industry, new to the industry, or struggling to rise in the industry. Complete further research to identify the key issues or themes that have influenced the corporation’s management strategy. Based on your research, write a historical overview and summary of the company, and identify key geopolitical, historical, economic, cultural, or technological issues or themes that have influenced the corporation’s management strategy. Use the Milestone One Template linked in the “What to Submit” section to complete this milestone. Submit the completed template for grading.
Specifically, you must address the following critical elements:
Company Overview: Historical Overview
Select a publicly traded organization that you will use to conduct your project report.
Provide a historical overview of the company, outlining its goals and mission and the products, goods, or services it provides specific to its position in the industry.
Specifically, identify the corporation’s goals and mission and the products, goods, or services it provides specific to its position in the industry.
Examples of sources for this research are the company website and annual reports, as well as articles about the company in periodicals.
Summarize the company history in a two- to three-paragraph historical overview.
Company Overview: Issues or Themes
Describe key geopolitical, historical, economic, cultural, or technological issues or themes that have influenced the corporation’s management strategy.
You may also add other factors from the external environment, such as competitors, special interest groups, or employee or labor unions that apply.
This is an environmental scanning task.
Use the Shapiro Library to locate information about the company during your environmental scan.
Use the Module Two resources to complete the environmental scan.
From this environmental scan, summarize each of the key geopolitical, historical, economic, cultural, technological, or other issues you identified that have influenced the company. Be specific in describing how these issues have had an impact on the corporation’s management strategy.
The Issues or Themes section should be presented in a table. You do not need to submit the SWOT or PEST.
What to Submit
Submit your historical overview using the Milestone One Template-ATTACHED. Your paper should be a 1- to 2-page Microsoft Word document with double spacing, 12-point Times New Roman font, one-inch margins, and APA formatting and citations.
