What makes someone a client? Can you define the characteristics that categorize an individual as a “client” in a helping relationship? (2 points)
What separates you, the helper, from the client, the one being helped? Analyze the distinctions between the roles of a helper and a client in a helping relationship. (3 points)
Have you ever been in a situation in your life where you were the one receiving help? If yes, explain in detail. If no, explain in detail how that feels to not need help or avoid seeking help. Reflect on a personal experience where you received help, providing specific details. If you have not received help, discuss your feelings about not needing help or avoiding seeking it. If you have received help before, what field of service did you utilize? Do you feel like the services match your needs? Describe the field of service you utilized when receiving help and evaluate whether the services met your needs. Please only share what you are comfortable sharing. (4 points)
If you have not received help before, think about what you have learned so far in the course. What field of service would you seek first if you or someone you know had multiple needs? Share your thoughts on the field of service you would consider if you were to seek help for multiple needs or if someone you know required assistance. (3 points)
Can you be a helper and also be someone in need of help? Explain your response. Please discuss whether it is possible to simultaneously be a helper and someone in need of help and provide a rationale for your answer. (2 points)
