Option A: Crisis Communication Plan-Group or Individual
Choose an organization/company that you work for or are interested in (note: this must be a real-life company). Assume that you are in charge of the public relations division and as a head of that division, you have to create a crisis communication plan. Write out the plan, following the guidelines that we covered in the course.
Requirements:
1. Your completed plan must be between 8-10 pages long (typically crisis communication plans use the block format, 12 point font, Times New Roman or equivalent).
2. The plan must cover the main contextual areas that were discussed in the course.
3. The plan must be written in a language that is succinct, concise and easily understood by the intended audience.
4. The plan must be carefully proofread.
5. The plan must be professional formatted.
6. You must include a memo explaining why you believe the crisis communication plan that you are putting forward is effective. Would you feel comfortable selling/proposing this plan to a potential employer? Why or why not?
In addition to your plan, you must also produce a two-minute video summarizing the main points of your plan and making a case for its effectiveness.
Final Project Evaluation Rubric
Your final project will be evaluated based on the following four main areas with the following ratings: Exceptional, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.
Written Component
—Content-250 XP: Does your project include all required sections for the option that you have selected? Is the purpose of each component clear? Have you participated in all stages of the submission process? Does your project meet the minimum and maximum length requirements?
—Format-75 XP: Is your project properly structured and formatted? Remember, both options must follow a specific structure and format.
—Style- 50 XP: Check your project for clarity, concision, word and expression choices, effectiveness of delivery.
—Mechanics- 50 XP: Proofread your project carefully for video/audio/visual quality, spelling and grammar errors. Don’t forget about the importance of proper citations!
I will attach an example of a crisis management plan to the file. The due date I put is just for the draft that I will submit for the peer review, so it doesnt have to be perfect. You can upload the final draft by next week. I chose the brand SKIMS for this project please take a look of the sample project and make a similar one for SKIMS 🙂
