Whether your goal is to be an academic nurse educator(NE) or a nursing professional development(NPD) nurse educator, your values and beliefs will support your nurse educator competency development.
2. Develop a personal philosophy of nursing education statement (500 – 750 words/2-3 pages). Ensure that it includes your beliefs about nursing, education, adult learners(students), and is supported by your underlying understanding of educational theory as its foundation. Describe nurse educator(NE) roles, NE role effectiveness and competency development; and the learner roles (nurses in the clinical setting or nursing students in an academic program).
3. Contrast your philosophy with the philosophy and mission/vision of your clinical practicum site.
4. Reflect on the evolving nature of one’s philosophy of teaching and how will it contribute to your nurse educator competency
development.
