Locate sources (books, articles, etc.) and record citation information as you would for any research project.
Choose the sources that will be most useful to you.
Examine and review the sources carefully, thoroughly, and critically.
Compose an MLA-style Works Cited page. The difference between a Works Cited page and an Annotated Bibliography is that an Annotated Bibliography has citations, and a Works Cited pages does not. (Reference the MLA Review section for support with citations.)
Under each citation, include an annotation (150 words) that does the following:
Evaluates the source and/or author’s credibility.
Sums up the main ideas of the source.
Assesses the usefulness of sources in relation to research and topic.
Analyzes the work in relation to other sources.
MLA Format:
Double-space the paper,
Use Times New Roman, font size 12 pt.,
Leave only one space after periods and other punctuation marks,
Set the margins to 1 inch on all sides,
Indent the first line of each paragraph one half-inch from the left margin,
Create a header with your last name and the page number in the upper right-hand corner, one-half inch from the top and flush with the right margin,
List your name, your instructor’s name, the course, and the date in the upper left-hand corner of the first page. Make sure this part is also double-spaced. Make sure that the date format is “date, month, year.” Like this: 15 May 2022.
