paragraph:

your expertise.

State that this paper is
a literature critique. (Do not call this a research paper since you have not
collected data.)

Briefly summarize how
each article will be analyzed.

Include a transitional
sentence at the end of the introduction.

Review the Example Literature Critique before you
begin writing. A literature critique uses a different style of writing than
a review of literature. The critique writing style is more common in
graduate school assignments to teach students how to analyze the quality and
credibility of another author’s research.

When a title is used
as the subject of a sentence, it should not be followed by a comma.

When a title is added
as a modifying phrase to the subject it should be set apart from the sentence
by commas.
g.
Do not place commas
before or between simple prepositional phrases.

Do not include quoted content in the critique.

A literature critique
does not resemble a book review.

summarize the main points of the article.

critique into few well-organized paragraphs for each article. Include the
following information:

Scope: how many people are affected?

Bias: do the authors express bias in writing style
or was bias introduced in the way the study was conducted?

Strengths: what is your assessment of the article’s
strengths, and why do you think that? It
is not acceptable to state an article has no strengths or weaknesses because
the author did not delineate them. This in itself would be a weakness.
e.
Weaknesses: what is your assessment of the article’s
limitations, and why do you think that?
f.
Application: in what ways can this article be used-
theory, practice, or both?
g.
Relevance: does the article fit your expertise topic?

Complete your
discussion related to Article One before moving to Article Two:
a.
Insert a Level 2
header using the words Article Two
before starting the critique of your second article.
b.
The critique for each article should not be
longer than one page of text.
c.
The review to be
shorter than one page per article if the required questions are answered.

Insert a hard page
break on the line after the end of your critique for Article Two.
