NDIVIDUAL PAPERS (40 points): Each group member will write an individual research study article (about 3 pages double-spaced, not including title references pages and appendices) using APA style. The paper needs to include the following information:
Title Page (see sample APA style paper)
Abstract – summary of your paper, review the main points and purpose (2 points)
Introduction – brief introduction and examination of the issue you are studying, including common beliefs about the issue. Use reputable sources to support your statements. Include hypothesis (5 points)
Methodology – how did you get participants, materials/procedure used, location, identify variables (IV and DV) (3 points)
Results – discuss results in detail, summarize findings, were the results consistent with the hypothesis. Make sure to include information regarding the variables (10 points)
Discussion – Are the results consistent with any previous research studies or other findings that were referred to in the introduction? Potential future implications of the study, how can this information be useful? (I.e., depending on results, how can we try to change or continue the behaviors observed by the participants). (10 points)
References Page– see sample APA style paper. You will likely use at least your textbook to assist in getting the required information for the introduction and for the discussion sections.
Appendices – Charts/graphs summarizing results of study. (You will refer to the appendices when you discuss your results). (5 points)
APA style (title page, references, headings) = 5 points
There must be appropriate headings for each of the items (Abstract, Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion, References, and Appendices (with labels for tables/graphs).
