Literature Review 2
Objective: The purpose of this assignment is to engage students in a comprehensive review of the existing literature on a chosen topic. This involves summarizing, analyzing, and synthesizing relevant research to develop a deep understanding of the subject.
Task:
For this assignment, you will use the same theme or area of interest in child development from the first literature review. Find 3-5 scholarly articles related to your topic AND the Cognitive Child section of our book. When looking for articles, make sure to read the abstracts and skim the articles to determine if they should be used for your research and review.
Introduction:
The introduction is used to establish the context of your review to the reader. Define the topic of your study and provide any background information that helps your reader understand the topic and your interest (why is it important, interesting, problematic, or relevant.) Explain your reason (perspective) for reviewing the literature on this topic.
Body of Paper:
Each body paragraph should present a theme or topic from your articles related to your topic and the textbook chapters covering Section 2: The Cognitive Child. Provide an in-depth explanation of your sources and emphasize key findings and methodologies.
Conclusion:
Your conclusion should analyze, compare, and contrast the sources, identifying patterns, contradictions, and gaps. Summarize the major agreements and disagreements in the literature and the general conclusions drawn. Discuss the implications of the literature in relation to your topic and suggest potential areas for future research.
Source Citations:
Provide proper in-text citations and document them on a separate works cited page in APA format.
Length & Style:
Your paper should be approximately 3-5 pages (not includingyour title page and works cited), double spaced, 1″ margins, Arial or Times New Roman size 12 font. Submissions that are significantly shorter or longer will be penalized. See next page for grading rubric.
