MUST BE ABOUT A EDUCATIONAL PRODUCT PLEASE As noted, the Outline 2 mentioned for Week 4 is due in Week 5 (I will take this through Tuesday 4/16 of Week 6 without being counted late). This outline will be for the persuasive speech coming in Week 6. You can look ahead to that week for the information. It is a persuasive speech that you will give in Week 6, then revise and add a little more info and give again for Week 7. (The third outline may not change much from the second unless your feedback on your speech leads you a new direction, or the information added needs to go on there.)

For this assignment you will prepare and deliver a speech of 4 to 6 minutes designed to persuade the audience for a question of policy. Your speech on a question of policy needs to persuade the audience to purchase a specific product. In developing a policy speech to gain immediate action (as opposed to passive agreement), you want to motivate your audience to act—to do something such as buy this particular product to resolve the problem that you have identified. In this type of speech, you should follow Monroe’s Motivated Sequence to organize your message. You must verbally cite at least 3 sources in your presentation.

Power Point
This assignment requires the use of PowerPoint or similar technology. Your PowerPoint slides should not be a script on a slide but should enhance or clarify what you are saying. If you cannot show your PowerPoint while speaking you may submit this separately, but do your best to show in your presentation with a laptop, tv screen, iPad etc. Not having slides will be a 10 point deduction.
Mimic the classroom-
Stand while presenting for your persuasive speech. I want it to be as close to a classroom experience as possible. Next, verbally cite your sources when you present the information from them, not in a lump of information at the end. Lastly, make sure I can hear you. When you stand away from your computer the mic may not pick up as well and you may need to speaker louder. You are not required to dress professionally.
