Directions:
For this assignment, I want you to take the first and second
writing assignment and combine them as well as complete the bullets below to create
a complete media kit to give to a member of the media for a mock event that you
are planning for the company/organization you have chosen to work on this
semester.
For this assignment, you will need to complete all the
bullets below for best results. You will
create this as a paper assignment in terms of structure, but you can use charts
and images throughout (you should have imagery) to help demonstrate your
points.
For this project, you must have at least three sources (you
can use your text as one – websites are okay).
You must include answers to all the following bullets within your paper.

Create a Cover Page with Imagery of your Company
ü
Pull from Assignment # 1 for this – Pick and
organization or company that you want to use for this class (you will pretend
to be their media relations/public relations professional for this class).
o
Explain who you have chosen and why you have
chosen them. They can be a small, medium
or large organization/company.
o
Who is their demographic or target audience? (Ages, gender, income/socio-economic status,
area of the country or world) – you cannot say everyone.
o
What is this company/organization’s mission.

Identify an event that you want to
promote for your company/organization.
o Explain
what the event is and why it’s important.
You must have an EVENT!
o
Explain the mission or intent of having the
event.
o
Include your media list and how you plan to
reach them (press release) – you must have at least 8 media sources listed at a minimum.

Draft a press release using what you put
together in Assignment # 2 – and edit it to promote this event. Be sure to make any necessary changes that
were recommended after your first press release was graded.

Incorporate the event for this press release.

Create a statement – two paragraphs that
you will read at a press conference and this statement should be about the
event and what you want the media to know to help promote it.
o
Videotape yourself delivering this statement and upload it to the
dropbox or add it to a YouTube page and include the link. (worth 10 Points)

a mock press pass (just add
it to the paper – you can find them online) – you must have an image here.

Write a two-page synopsis on how you will work
with the media to ensure their interest in this event. Explain how you will get them to come to your
press conference.

Identify how else you will advertise your event.

This should include at least three mediums
(print, radio, TV, social media etc.)

Explain how you will promote the event on each
medium and the differences.
§
Explain who you want to know about your event
and why.
§
Identify how what you learned in this class will
help you as you move forward in your career, specifically with relation to this
assignment.

MUST have at least 3-4 images in this paper
throughout. Should be visual. Images should be no more than 3X3 inches and
you should use text wrapping.
Caution
– this project must be on the same company or organization that you have been
working with for writing assignments # 1 and #2.

Roman, 12pt. font – Double Space, Cover Page & References pages do not
count towards page count. Both are
required.
