Meet the Therapist!
While your textbook does an excellent job of analyzing and summarizing various therapeutic viewpoints, nothing compares to reading the actual words of the founders of these techniques, or even better, seeing them in action.

Assignment
Theories and the practice of psychotherapy are rarely stagnant. Psychoanalysis was developed by Sigmund Freud a century ago. It was modified by Jung, Adler, and others. This week, your task is to examine the evolution of psychoanalysis.
Begin by providing a brief 1 to 2-page overview of the theoretical underpinnings and the therapeutic process of psychoanalysis as introduced by Sigmund Freud.
Prepare a chart in which you list and describe, in your own words and full sentences, five variations on Freud’s original theory and practice of psychoanalysis. For example, core conflictual relationship theme (CCRT) by Luborsky and Crits-Chrisoph (1998) is a psychodynamic approach that uses narratives of relationships during therapeutic sessions and involves an examination of dreams and their relationship to the narratives.
In chronological order, include the date, the modification, and the theorist or proponent on that modification in your chart. You must support your information with references from scholarly sources, with at least three of your sources from the NCU library collection. Remember to use APA format to present your citations and references.
Decade or year originally presented Description of Variation Theorist or Proponent Reference (your source information)
