Management Orientation Program Proposal
You have the opportunity to create a proposal to present to the leadership team for the orientation of new nurse managers. This project will include the creation of an orientation using leadership and management topics that will be selected to support the nurse manager as he or she transitions into the new role. This project will compile specific topics, resources and facilitators to support a new nurse manager as they get acclimated to the organization or unit. APA citations expected.
Your proposal should include:
Introductory and concluding remarks
Identify 8 specific topics to support the new nurse manager
Learning objectives for the lesson(s)
Rationale for including each topic with a synthesis of professional literature
Recommendation of internal and or external materials for each topic
Recommendation of a facilitator for each topic
Rationale listing why the materials and facilitator(s) are the most appropriate choice for that topic
Reading and Resources

Additional Instructions:
All submissions should have a title page and reference page.
Utilize a minimum of two scholarly resources.
Adhere to grammar, spelling and punctuation criteria.
Adhere to APA compliance guidelines.
Submit TWO documents:
1. Submit the original Presentation (PowerPoint)
and
2. Submit the script as a Word document.
Both documents are required to avoid a resubmission.
Do not convert documents to a pdf for submission.
PowerPoint
If submitting a PowerPoint – Follow the Rule of 7 for your slides.
This means there are no more than 7 bullets per slide and no more than 7 words for each bullet point.
Slides should not have paragraphs or long sentences.
The bullet points on the slide are merely talking points; therefore, the bullet points should be fully discussed in the speaker notes and should include in-text citations (just like you would in a written paper).
SCRIPT REQUIREMENTS
The script is a separate Word document and includes the discussion from the speaker notes section of your slides. Creating the script is a simple step.
Copy and paste the speaker notes from each slide to the Word document. Label them with headings, such as “Slide 1”, “Slide 2”, etc. Be sure the slide numbers on the script correlate to the actual slide numbers on the PowerPoint. The discussion in the speaker notes should be exactly what is included on the script.
Be sure to include the reference page in both the script and the last slide of the PowerPoint.
The script does not need to be in APA format; however, in-text citations and references must be in APA and are required for every assignment.
