Look at the whole Harn museum and observe the building, its entrance and surroundings and how the exhibits are organized. Briefly describe the museum as a whole, what does it look like? how does it make you feel? Also you may state: Is this museum like others you have visited? Different? Have you been to an art museum before? Be sure to include a THESIS statement on a topic related to the content of the paper that will serve to tie the paper together. For example: “The Harn Museum has a more modern feeling than the Metropolitan Museum of Art which I visited last summer.”

Describe the work, including the artist’s name, the medium, the size, the date and location of its creation.
Notice and DESCRIBE unusual size, texture, scale, color, subject, mood, etc. BE SPECIFIC. USE AT LEAST 5 GELO VOCABULARY WORDS IN YOUR DESCRIPTION OF THE PIECE. One of the GELO words must say if the piece is REPRESENTATIONAL, ABSTRACT, or NON-OBJECTIVE. Additional information will include your personal opinion of the work pro or can and why. You may discuss how this work fits in to the exhibit as a whole, or into the life’s work of the artist who created it. You may refer to information provided by the Harn Museum and CREDIT THE SOURCE using MLA style.

You may recap your experience, relate the visit to other museums, compare the piece you chose to other pieces you have seen in your life, or explain how what you have seen relates to the skills you have learned in class. Or you may follow another thought for your conclusion as long as it serves to unify the paper you have written, referring back to the thesis statement.
