Assignment 4 Instructions
This is the completed study that you proposed in Assignment 3. It answers all your research
questions and also gives a more comprehensive treatment of:
1) Concepts and Background Information in the Introduction, and
2) Methodology.
The Findings should also include recommendations for further research that the results could point toward.
Your study looks at how English is used in combination with other internet communication codes – memes, gifs, emojis, emoticons.
(Look at the Past Student’s Presentation in the Google Classroom for the example of a methodology that was utilized).
The research will be conducted over the period you had indicated in your Research Proposal.
Your paper should be between 2,000 to 3,000 words (excluding the reference list) and should demonstrate reading that goes beyond those sources used in class.
Ensure that you consult and cite only reputable sources. The paper should be double-spaced and have 3 cm margins on both the left and the right.
Your research paper should be written in the appropriate register. It should be well organized and free of plagiarism, and errors of spelling, grammar, and mechanics. Your paper should reference at least five (5) sources, and the in-text citations and reference list should follow the 7th edition of the Publication manual of the American Psychological Association.
The Research Proposal is worth 40% of your overall marks and will be evaluated using the following mark scheme:
