Journal Critique
This 8-10 page journal critique is designed to help you become more familiarized with reading and extracting information from empirical articles. From a scholarly journal, choose a health-related empirical article that interests you (your choice) and published within the past 5 years; articles from earlier years will not be accepted. Avoid review or theoretical articles.
You can be creative with the specific layout, but your summary should be in outline form (you can use incomplete sentences if you like). Your summary needs to include the following:
• Purpose and Theoretical Background of Study
• Hypothesis
• Methodology (participants, study design, measures, procedures)
• Results
• Author(s) conclusions
• Stated and unstated limitations
• Implications for Health Psychology and/or public policy
• Your evaluation of the study
