It’s time to be creative! For this assignment, you will create an infographic of the opioid crisis.
You have probably seen many infographics. What is an infographic? Infographics tell a SHORT story. According to Wikipedia, Infographics are graphic visual representations of information, data, or knowledge intended to present information quickly and clearly. They can improve cognition by utilizing graphics to enhance the human visual system’s ability to see patterns and trends.
Tell us a short story about the opioid crisis. There is much to know about opioids, but your infographic should focus on 1-3 main points. Many times, students try to fit too much information into the infographic, and it’s too busy to read. This is about understanding the most salient points of the topic and conveying this topic visually.
It might help to think that you are designing a poster to convey critical information to students about the opioid crisis – what do you want them to know that is really pertinent- creating this message in visual pictures is a good way to convey complicated information in a quick format – think about all of the social media we consume and the messages that are conveyed in those pictures. Your infographic should contain graphics and or pictures and very brief text information.
You may use any format you like, such as Canva, Powerpoint or Adobe Spark. See the example below.
DO NOT COPY AND PASTE OTHER GRAPHS OR DATA– you must create your own!
