This assignment requires
conducting a coaching project using all five of the coaching stages described
in the textbooks and reading materials: establishing the coaching relationship,
assessing coaching needs, setting goals, progressing toward goals, and concluding
the coaching engagement.
Theories and concepts learned
in the course are used to guide and interpret the coaching process and to
demonstrate an understanding of course concepts relating to coaching and talent
management. Observations and actions taken during the project must be
described in relation to terms and concepts found in the literature (shown by
citations within the text of the report and presentation). All citations
will have their related references included at the end of the report.
Students will work with a
colleague in the class on this project, who will serve as a
coachee/client. Coaching for the project will be conducted via telephone
or voice-over-internet, or in-person, but NOT via email. Students must
report on project progress to the instructor after the initial goal setting
stage of the coaching engagement.
The presentation and report
will consist of an introduction or description of
the coaching process and context; and a detailed description of each of the
phases in the change process, including: 1) establishing the
coaching relationship; 2) assessing coaching needs; 3) setting coaching goals;
4) progressing toward goals; 5) concluding the coaching engagement. If
all five phases were not conducted in depth, the extent to which each stage was
conducted (and why) will be presented. In addition, a conclusions
and insights section will be included at the end of the
report. Report headings in the paper will correspond to each of these
highlighted categories.

Purpose
and Process
The
purpose of this assignment is to experience the strategic planning process
for developing a career strategy. assess and reflect on their own career
development experiences and competencies and continue with goal-setting and
career building activities from the Career Management text and Discussion
Board assignments. Using what you learn from the assessments in this class
and from feedback from your coaching partner, you will be expected to craft
some long-term career goals and medium-term career strategies, and short term
next steps.

Arial font, with a one-inch margin. It should be 1200 to 1800 words, not

the report should include an introduction and conclusion section, as well as
sections and headings corresponding to the topics covered. This paper should
include in-text references to the material from the class and references in
APA format.
