While milestone charts are helpful to know when a child should typically be mastering certain skills, they can also be a source of worry for the parent of the child that is “lagging”. When do we reassure a parent that their child is most likely just fine and may simply be a “late bloomer” and when do we encourage a parent to seek help for their child, as early intervention is important?
