As you pointed out, Amazon opened a few ‘Amazon Go’ stores last year. This expansion may have been slowed by the pandemic. Is there any effort for Amazon to accelerate the companies ‘brick and mortar’ presence (beyond their Whole Foods division)?
Also, is theft a problem in these stores. Some large cities have softened their laws re: shoplifting, raising the threshold to above $1,000 before they arrest the shoplifter. It would seem that Amazon Go stores would be a ‘cakewalk’ for the well organized urban shoplifter!
