Introduction
For the rest of the semester, we will be reading and evaluating works that motivated and were inspired by the Black Arts Movement.
Instructions
In a 3–5-page essay, analyze one of the works we have read in this unit and make an argument for the symbolism used in the work. Your argument should answer the following questions: What is significant about this work? What is the context behind the work and the author? What connection does the work have to the Black Arts Movement?

The thesis statement should be an arguable statement about. The thesis should come at the end of the introduction paragraph.
Body Paragraphs (5-7 sentences each)
Body paragraphs should contain supporting evidence for your thesis while providing necessary details from the literature and music to accurately prove your points. Also, these paragraphs should start with topic sentences that set the tone for what information will be included in the remainder of the paragraph.
Conclusion Paragraph (3-4 sentences)
Conclusion paragraphs restate your thesis statement. The conclusion paragraph should serve as a summary of what has already been stated, so no new information is allowed.

A Works Cited page cites your sources used to support your claims.
