Introduction: The The overall goal of this section is to
introduce the overall “problem” that you will be
researching. Clearly describe your identified problem and
use existing research to justify why it is essential (i.e.,
why vour research is “sianificant”).
Literature Review: Define all constructs used in your
studv, and review relevant literature (discuss results of
previous studies in this area and introduce relevant
theories/methods). This section should end with a
“current stud” section that starts with a brief overview of
vour stud and includes our specific research
questions/aims, along with specific hypotheses (if
anoropriate).
Methods: Describe, in detail, the methods that you will
use for your study. Justify why you are using these
methods. Detail all measures and assessment tools used
and justify their use. End this section with a description of
the statistical analysis methods you propose.
Expected Results: This section should indicate what vou
expect to get out of the research. It should join the data
analvsis and possible outcomes to the theory and
questions you raised. It will be a good place to
summarize the significance of the work.
Discussion: You will not collect data for this project, so
you will skip the “results” section and end with a
discussion. Describe the implications of your
hypothetical study findings and what interpretations may
be possible based on what vou think vou may find. Use
current research literature to compare your hypothetical
study findings with other researchers’ findings. Clearly
describe the strengths and limitations of your methods
and how these may affect the interpretation of results.
End with a brief conclusion summarizing your project
goals, method, and implications.
Conclusion: The conclusion section of a scholarly
research proposal summarizes and synthesizes the main
points and findings presented throughout the proposal. Its
purpose is to reiterate the significance of the research
problem, highlight critical insights derived from the
literature review and proposed methodology, and
underscore the potential contributions of the study to the
field. Additionally, the conclusion may offer
recommendations for future research directions or
practical implications of the proposed study’s findings,
reinforcing the proposal’s overall significance and
relevance.
